About the Sega Dreamcast
The Dreamcast launched in North America on 9/9/99 with a built-in modem, a VMU memory card with its own screen, and a strong lineup that included Soulcalibur and Sonic Adventure. It was Sega's last console. The PlayStation 2 announcement, piracy, and Sega's finances ended it in early 2001.
In its short life it got Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star Online, Power Stone 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Ikaruga (Japan). Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Skies of Arcadia, Mars Matrix, Cannon Spike and Project Justice are among the more expensive North American titles.
Most units need a new GD-ROM drive or have been modded with an optical drive emulator such as a GDEMU, which should be disclosed. Discs are frequently bootlegged, so check the ring codes and printed disc artwork on expensive games.
